I'm making all posts on my phone at the moment, so apologies if they come out wonky. Here are some of the Haradrim infantry for the Minas Tirith '84 project.
All Hinchliffe Yonderly Men from their fantasy range with the exception of the standard bearer who is a Citadel illusionist. There's another unit of these guys with spears to come.
Nice! You got the black serpent on red and the scimitars in there and everything. Well done, they look great! Excited to see more!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mouse. Hope to have the Mumakil ready soon.
DeleteThey're splendid.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shaun... have you ever been commissioned to paint any Hinchliffe figures?
DeleteNot for twenty years :-)
DeleteAnother lovely unit. Those shields are really nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Peter Gilder designed these in 1978, and used a fancy button for the shield on these and a centaur model.
DeleteFantastic - look really well. I knew I recognised that standard bearer (Illusionist) - original late 70s Citadel. One of the first miniatures I ever bought at age 11 - for 25p ...mail order.
ReplyDeleteI used that figure as an elf sorceror in our MERP game for about 5 years ...ahhh the memories, the failed O-Levels, the constant pressure from the Scripture Union to give up the Devil's games ...and our insistence to keep playing them HEHE
I got the idea to use him as a standard bearer from a tiny picture in the Thistlewood scenario WD45. Adults didn't seem to mind role playing games too much but rugby and football playing contemporaries took a dim view. I had to repurchase my hardback D and D books after they were trashed. My old man railed at me for listening to Black Sabbath however.... now I am delighted my own sons are into black metal.
DeleteVery nice! I love how the shields came out.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ethan. A couple of drybrushing coats over a black undercoat.
DeleteAnother splendid unit, excellent work they really look the part. Are there Mumakil to come?
ReplyDeleteOh yes. Just painting the bases now so coming soon.
