Ral Partha PATTGBITN 01028 Gremlin War Party V1 (3 FIGS)
The gremlin war party was one of the first packs I bought in 1979ish, and they struck me then as particularly sinister and appeared in a dungeon adventure I ran at school . My original figures were painted thickly with Humbrol enamel Flesh and Gold if I remember correctly.
Rather like these figures , a quaint O.S. look to them .
ReplyDeleteYeah! I love these guys! Old Ral Partha goodness...I have a troop of them living in the lead mountain. I've been itching to use them in a game of Dragon Rampant along with some other old Tom Meier goodies. I like the blue paint scheme. Makes me think of the harpies in Jason and the Argonauts!
ReplyDeleteWow! Great colour scheme on these wonderful figures.
ReplyDeleteThanks MJT.... they are rather fun.
DeleteYep, RP are probably my favourite manufacturer up until 1982 or so. I suspect the harpies may have influenced me, although I should have done the hair red.
ReplyDeleteA triumphant return! Was fretting that you might have been concussed by a musket stock to the head or something equally debilitating!
ReplyDeleteYes, a Lazarus like return. I have flogged my musket and a lot of re-enactment kit to fund the new hobby (and buy the puppy Mrs. Broadsword has invited to live with us)!
DeleteMy those chaps are rather sinister. They remind me of an illustration from a medieval bible.
ReplyDeleteDogs are great I have ended up with two in the last few years. They are very limiting though. As my wife reminds me every time we can't go on holiday.
Hmmmm... yes. Happily Mrs. Broadsword wanted the dog (I didn't) so she agreed to do all the nasty bits. I don't even think I'll have time to walk the thing to be honest, so her and the sprogs will be doing that.
