MONSTER MANUAL MONDAY 10

Here we have a nice ETTIN (from the old English eoten meaning bogle or goblin) , produced by Grenadier in the very early 80's as part of their new  official D and D range. To my eyes so much nicer than the new grotesque offering from Games Workshop (also considerably cheaper and smaller). The heads bear a passing resemblance to Ozzy Osborne... make of that what you will

  1. Great work: love the skin tone. Have you seen the new Otherworld Ettin? Naturally it's a very traditionalist rendering, too.
    Regarding the FW Ettin:

    1. Models have arrived! Thanks very much: they will all be very useful in my 'Burn Witch Burn' project.

    2. Yep, I like Otherworld figures, and the idea, but they aren't Oldschool enough for my tastes, brilliant sculpts though. You have done a great job on that Ettin, I saw one in the latest White Dwarf, which was very well painted but a bit too gribbly for me (too many suppurating sores).

  2. Excellent figure here, well done. Perhaps one head is Ozzy and the other Osborne.I look forward to harmonies as they bark at the moon...
    cheers

  3. He looks great! Difficult model to work with, too. Lots of mold flash and not much detail to work with. Superb job!
