Sorry posts are a bit thin on the ground recently....just busy with family life!
A study in practical nostalgia, travelling back to the early 1980's with a fistful of cash, to buy all the stuff I couldn't afford on a paperboys salary.

IMPERIAL GUARD
I'm not sure why King Amias is listed as having an Imperial Guard, but they are a crack unit in the army. I had these chaps lying unused in an old shoebox and they seemed to fit the bill. I think they are very old Minifigs, with cast in spears, but I can't remember where I bought them. I only need 10, but as there were 12 figures, it seemed a bit churlish to leave 2 unpainted.

Great look and finish as usual.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I picked up a set of rules called 'Dragon Rampant', which I've had a read through. They're based on the medieval 'Lion Rampant' by Dan Mersey.
I was thinking of your Conan figures and others as I read them. They are simple without being simplistic and really suit the way you have your stuff based. Dont require that many units either. Would recommed them.
Thanks Duc. I have a copy of DR, and was also thinking of Lion Rampant for Conan, as the battles don't tend to involve monsters and such like. Also planning Robin of Sherwood games for either set of rules.
DeleteThanks Don...they were quite quick to do.
DeleteOld School-tastic as always!
ReplyDeleteThe wibbly wobbly spears are very old school!
DeleteI'd recommend the rules too.
ReplyDeleteLovely old school lead oozing charm. The king is lucky to have such stout fellows protecting him.
